I am an enthusiastic and confident graduate looking for an exciting career in the media industry. I have recently finished my final year of university and I am now looking to take on an opportunity to gain some vital experience and learn from a company with a great team of professionals.

After finishing school I took the opportunity to spend a year living in France where I had regular French lessons and played rugby for the Biarritz academy. I am very personable, motivated and I have the confidence to take the initiative to further my career.

Work Experience

Juice Magazine

After finishing university, I created a magazine to target students in and around the Worcester area. This involved directing a company as well as designing and publishing a 20-page copy with advertising and relevant articles, and overall gaining valuable knowledge of what is necessary to manage a competent business. I also used social media to develop and increase the profile of the publication.

Freelance Reporter: The Argus, Brighton

Reporting on a number of local events for the Youth in Action section of the newspaper. Handed press releases with a 24-hour turnaround to print. Learning the style and language of the newspaper was key to ensure each article suited their image and well as developing my research proficiency.

Espartine: Marketing assistant

During my time in Biarritz, I worked within a start- up clothing brand to liaise with clients in the UK and USA. Communication was essential working across multi language levels. Other roles included creating presentations for new potential independent boutiques.

The Mail on Sunday: Work experience

Shadowing lead journalist Simon Watkins, introduced to sub editor and learnt aspects of printing, general office assistant and coordinator, attended department meetings, observing and learning about the all aspects of the company.

Editor of the TBSHS school magazine

Holding and leading team meetings, organising articles and topics between students, arranging design and print, wrote articles on local and internal events.

Interests

Outside the work environment I take a great interest in travelling, a variety of sports, advertising campaigns, blogging, social media and keeping up to date with the latest news. I am keen cook, regularly trying new dishes and like to experiment with different foods. I am a fanatic snowboarder and have also been a Tottenham Hotspur season ticket holder for the past 5 years. I have an active lifestyle in the countryside in Hertfordshire, playing a lot of sports and getting involved in the local community.

I have played rugby from a very young age and I have competed at many levels, most notably during my time in France.

Living in another country has certainly helped me develop excellent communication skills and the ability to become self-reliant.

I have spent time travelling in Australia, Asia and throughout Europe; last summer spending two months driving across Europe visiting a number of towns and experiencing the different local cultures. I like to push my boundaries and achieve things out of my comfort zone. Recently I bungee-jumped from the biggest gorge in Europe, Gorges Du Verdon in Southern France.
